I really don't think the Tikka receiver has metric threads. Or if they do, that they match up with the standard threads?  My buddy put a set of Talleys on his 270wsm T3 Lite, with the provided screws and didn't have any problems. Another friend just put some Warne bases on his 7mm Mag Tikka T3 Lite with the standard screws and again, no problems.  That guys brother sells Tikkas in his gun shop and never mentioned that those were metric threads in the receiver...but did mention the screws in the rings that come with the rifle are metric. Another friend has a Sako and the receiver screws in that are also standard.
  Could the threads on your receiver may be buggered up a little?  Do the screws thread in at all?  If they do, do they tighten up as you screw them in?
