As a light rifle for hunting, that is "relatively" flat shooting to 300 yards, for game in the Impala & Springbok class.

Comparing the ballistics of these shows that there is maybe very little real difference in velocity & energy (120gr 260 rem vs 115gr 6.8 SPC)

The 6.8 SPC would obviously fit a very light rifle, but can the 6.8 SPC be hand-loaded to the advertised velocities (2800 from a 20" barrel)

Can the 260 rem acheive the advertised velocities (2730 from a 20" barrel)

Which would have a better barrel life?

Any comments or suggestions would be welcome.

P.S. Jsut don't like the 243 Win and many game farmers in SA will not allow its use.
