Barnes has their starting load with RL7 at 2600 fps and the max load pushing past 2800 fps. Barnes manual has the 300gn X at 5331 fp at the muzzel and 3520 fp at 200 yds. I am trying to plan the best combination so I can put in a bulk order of bullets. I want to be able to drop a moose at 150 to 200 yds and have enough power to get that big bear if the oppertunity present its self. The engergy difference between the 300gn and 350gn is between 300 fp and 400 fp. Would the 350 be that much of an advantage and will the push on the other end be worth the extra 300 to 400 fp of energy? Previous: Well...
