I'm no expert, especially compared to many of the others who write on this forum, but I can tell you what I've used.  I've taken four rams, one with a 30-06 and three with a 7mm Mag.  In every case I have used a 150gr bullet.  Some go with something a bit larger, like 180gr in case they run into an aggressive bear, but I've never found this to be an issue on my sheep hunts.  Sheep hunting can be a long-range game (though 3 of my rams have been within 30-100 yards), so I go with something light and flat shooting.
