[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] method to the madness Posted by George on Apr 26 2006 Tim! I like it! When you brought up the "ladder" method a few months ago I thought this method was what you were talking about. That is the best approach I've found when really serious about working up a load. You may not need to use .03 grain increments!(I think you meant .3 gr increments :):).. at .03 gr. you might shoot out the barrel by the time you finished the project! To be valid the testing should use as much as possible the same techniques and components for each series. The most difficult thing may be keeping the brass dimensions the same for each. What I do in testing like this is start with a lot of brass. Prep it all the same, then put it in a large load box. Start at one end and progress down the box, replacing the once fired brass with spent primers still in, in their original holes. This makes it easier to keep track of the cycles that each has gone thru. When you reach the end of the box- start over. Then you're on the twice fired brass. Also, clean the bore completely at regular intervals. Let us know how it goes! Previous: Round Robin Method grizz106 Apr 25 2006 Next: OCW-.3grains grizz106 Apr 26 2006 Message Thread:
