I took my share of moose and black bear with very little fuss. If I placed the first shot right, as I usually did then, that was all it normally took except for one moose that needed a little more convincing. Most shots were 100 yards or less, which is the way I like it, not needing the challenge of long shots when hunting to prove some point. I used, after some testing initially, 250 grain Hornady Interlocks. Even now, with the relatively new crop of premium bullets, I'd use the same. A very efficient hunting round, and if needs be, I'd use it on a brownie with confidence. Previous: .338-06 or Whelan .338 mag.
