Round Robin Method
Posted by grizz106 on Apr 25 2006
I think a shooting piece should be accurate-at any distance,at most times of the year. Some accept loads that are something suitable and then there is me. The Audette method is out of the question as the 300yds distance is not really availble. This round robin is to shoot 3 shot groups @ 100yds in increments of .03 grains. Say start at 6% less than that of max. and work up on individual targets. Once you find the so called "sweet spot" you commence to adjust overall length to "fine tune".
I am shooting my rebuilt FN 98 .30-338 with Woodleighs new .30 240 grn. Protected Point heavy weights. The maxload I can determine by using QuickLoad is RL 19 that keeps me close to near full case capacity and pressures, 65.47 grns.@2594fps. I am going to attempt 6% less  than max and work up.The bullet is designed between 1900-2400fps impact velocities.
I have not started yet. Any pointers before I commence? I have somethin like 2 1/2 boxes to really get a grip-more than enough. Should be not only good at sub moa's @ 100 yds but also thru the various ambient temps.
In reality it seems no different than what I normally do but when I pulled this fellas web site it seems he has something going-could be crap but it seems like alot of words and studies and some informative information has been invested to oppose the Audette method-better?
     Your thoughts.
