I took a gander at the Savage and Remington sites. I'm afraid the Remington is just a bit outside my budget right now. Even at my usual discount at the shop. I can remember when plunking down a grand on a rifle wasn't that big a deal. Now it's a mountain. I see the Savage stainless in .338, I must have overlooked it last time I visited the site. As things sit I really need to stick under $700.00 with sights, etc. Of course when things impove a bit I'll be looking to upgrade!!
