Posted by reuben_j_cogburn on Apr 24 2006 My quest to find a heavy caliber left hand bolt in my present budget range has been rather frustrating. One lower cost option fo me would be to buy a used Savage bolt and rebarrel it. My best buddy is a smith and I could sell the original barrel to help offset the cost. My question is: Does anyone on this forum shoot the bigger caliber in a savage action? Do they seem to hold up okay?
