I have a Tikka in 30.06 synthetic stock, and shoot 180 gr. Rem ammo.  My hunting buddy has the Tikka T3 in .300 Win Mag synthetic  stock,and with standard 180 gr Rem Ammo, his gun kicks less than my 30.06.  His barrel is 2" longer, 24" vs 22", but the biggest difference is a Sims Limbsaver Pad on his gun.  I just had one put on my .06 but will not shoot it until next week. Don't flinch, It won't be much of a difference to what you are used to.
