I've been out of town and just saw your post about Ruger Rings.  A company called Meier Works makes a quick detach lever with shim packs for factory Ruger rings, converting them to a QD setup.  You can trim down the shim packs to index your levers so they don't interfere with your bold release.  I have a set on my 338 WM with factory iron sights.  I love the setup and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.  Arctic Gunworks in Fairbanks sells the levers, Gary should have some in stock and if my memory serves correctly, they were about $50.... a lot less than other systems you'll find.
