I didnt weigh it after I put it on, but I would say it added close to a pound. In its current set-up, it weighs 8 3/4lbs. w/leupold rings and bases and 1.75-6X VX-III. This is with the factory stock. So, just about any after-market stock will put you at nine or more, especially if full-length bedded. I wouldnt want to shoot one under eight pounds, for I dont think I would like the recoil.

As far as the recoil bad, its way better than the Winchester one, but I dont feel its as good as a pachmeyer(sp?)to me.
