Your not the only that has this problem. Any high end load with an exposed lead nose will get damaged. Magnums even more so. I've noticed that the less room the bullet has to slide forward the less damaged. That I think is a momentum factor.
The soldered shoulders seem ok but pretty technical. I am going to experiment with a peel off stick 'em pad that can be mounted on that front inside portion of the magazine well.
Something like a Barnes TSX should be pretty immune to tip damage.
