S/W& W/M...
Posted by Murphy on Feb 28 2006
MB,

I agree with your comparison between those two.  They come into town with their low prices and have everything you need under one roof, why go anywhere else?!  And just to keep the prices the lowest, until they run the little guy out of buisness, they import everything they can from the cheapest country on earth(china) and then when all the small mom and pop places go under and they are the only show in town, then the prices aren't so low.  Naw! That could never happen here.  Yes I'm guilty of it sometimes, feeding that monkey, but one day he will be a gorilla.

I love to go to an oldtime gunshop, the kind with a worn wooden floor and a wood fired heating stove in the corner, and sit on the bench in the back with the coffee pot and a few others and talk about guns and bullets and huntin' and tell 'em about that old FN Mauser I found in 9.3x62, slick as can be, shoots like a dream and with the original sights and no added holes for a scope mount.  We have just such a place here in town and I'm a regular visitor.  I have bought most of my guns from them since I've been here.  They know me and we discuss many things in that shop and it seems we almost always agree on what ever the subject.  I pay a little more for my bullets and powder there but to me the atmosphere is worth the extra.  I come in many times after work and just hangout, it's that kind of place.  No I absolutely do not want those places to go away. It's almost funny, I absolutely do not buy from the big W, but then I do slip up and spend money at the other one.  What was I thinkin'?  Thanks.  Thanks for bringing me back to where I wanted to be. Thank you Mauser Man and good shootin'.
