Medium bore levers
Posted by Darreld Walton on Feb 26 2006
Thanks for the replies, fellas!  Price on the 'standard' is $1,000, asking price, the deluxe he is asking $1200. There's room to dicker on both of them, and the owner is wanting something of mine... The tax return would cover enough for both of them, and a good supply of brass and bullets as well.  I'll have to go tie them up this week.
My first sporting rifle was a Belgian Browning BLR in .308.  I've killed everything from mice to moose with the thing in and around Idaho, Montana and Wyoming with it.  My son is now using that rifle.  I ended up with it's twin awhile back, but it's a .243, and I've been eyeballing that one with an eye to making it into my .358, and I've got a dandy 1936 Mexican Mauser that I was going to do up in the same chambering, but a 20" barreled fly weight, but I'm going to hold off a bit to see how the .338 Federal looks and performs, and may end up going that route with the Mex.
There's a 'new' M71, one of the Browning/Winchesters, at a shop here in town, and it's a C note more than either of the originals.  He also just got in one of the '95 clones in .405.........
