I ran into a couple of the old Model 71 Winchesters yesterday, one a 'Deluxe', with the checkered stock and nice wood, the other a plain gun, both good bores, tight actions, solid wood, but a lot of finish wear to the metal and wood, tho nothing that couldn't be brought back, the lines still strong.
I've never considered playing with a .348, but the prices on these two pieces are making me reconsider.
Is there still a use for this cartridge?  Or should I just press on with my original plans for a .358 carbine?
