Whait ifs'
Posted by CowlitzSteelie on Feb 23 2006

I thought long and hard about the whole Marlin XLR conversion into a .450 Alaskan in my sleep....kept me up all night.

Now I know everyone was griping how the 1895 is smaller and possibly wouldn't be able to house the action.  How is Regan Nonneman doing it?  How is Montana Rifleman doing it?  And an number of other gunsmiths?  Are they building them and not telling people they will crush to bits?

The whole strength issue, is the stainless steel housing not strong enough?  Are laminated stocks not the the strongest?  Wouldn't a good recoil pad aid in the monsters bash?  These are all some factors I thought of...Like to hear what you think.

Good shooting.
