Response for Murphy
Posted by CowlitzSteelie on Feb 23 2006
First of all it is a honor to correspond with you.  I found all your forums very interesting.  You are a very knowledgeable person.

The wording on the jamming came out wrong, freezing would deem more appropriate.... The slide was stuck and would not slide back.  I clean and service all my firearms...this was some form of mechanical problem.  It took all my strength, and I am a pretty strong guy, to finally work it back.  After that It worked fine.  It has happened again a few times.  I can't explain why.  I need to get a hold of Springfield and find out if that is a common occurance with anyone else.  I was very impressed with this pistol shooting factory loads, and some handloads using rainier, gold dot, sabres, and silvertips, but those darn XTPs have me licked!

Is this a CZ clone?

Not sure about that, I think I read somewhere that it was... I will get back to you on that. Here is a link, I have the Bi-Tone XD40...

Are you an experienced handgunner?

I have been shooting since I was a child, I have been in the Military Police Corps for 10 years showing fellow soldiers how to shoot.  I am by no means a competition shooter, but I can hold my own, have always shot expert.  I am also trained in personal security and SRT (the army's version of SWAT). Professionally trained with Berettas and Sigs.  For fun and personal defense, Glock, S&W, Springfield.

Have you shot this pistol with ANY ammo before, or is it new?

Yes,all other loads work great.  It just hates XTPs.  I have gone with hornady specs and I have even matched other factory ammo specs in seating.

Did you taper crimp the rounds?

Yes

What bullet weight & powder charge do you use?

180gr. XTP, 8.9 grs of Accurate #7

What is the overall length?

C.O.L. 1.125"

What did you think of the sand box?

All business, did what I was suppose too, lost some good friends, saved some and brought 'em all home.

Thanks Murphy
