just kidding... I am with D-in the-B, you need a shotgun if you only get one. It can handle gamebirds, mammal critters, survival flares, self defense.  If anyone has seen the wildlife museum in Anchor Point, there is a pretty amazing collection of mounted game animals from around the world. I once asked the lady there (her husband collected all of the animals)what gun he used to shoot the Cape Buffalo and hippopotamus. She smiled and said "He only has one rifle, it is a 1903-A3 .30/06. He used it to shoot everything in here."    But I would never just pick one, 'cause I likes 'em all.  Kid
