For hunting, 130/150gn triple shocks or 150/165gn Partions, Fed match primers, Reloader 15 and Lapua brass. For break-in I had a bunch 130gn Speer HPs onhand and loaded 150gn RN Hornadys (IMR 4759) in Win brass for reduced practice loads. Used Shilen break-in process and tuned trigger to 2.75 lbs. First hunting loads with 150gn partitions and R15 powder will produce five shots under an inch if you keep the barrel cool. Off the bench get three or four in .5" and a flyer or two to get to an inch. Plan to bob the barrel and rebed soon to try to get rid of the flyers. For testing hunting loads I shoot two shoot groups from a cold gun. The new 130gn Barnes triple shocks are next focus. Remember, 308s don't need to be loaded hot to shoot really well - I suggest the Nosler manual as a start and keep your barrel clean.
