The 325 WSM is the ballistic twin of a 65 year old German classic, the 8x68.  I've owned an 8x68 since 1984.  Mine is a commercial Oberndorff M98, sold by Franconia.  All I can say is that it cured any interest I could ever generate in any 300 or 338.  Flies like the 300, hits like a 338.  It's accurate.  With the short mags' reputation for accuracy, I can only believe the 325 will be more of a very good thing.

I was facinated when Winchester announced the 325 WSM.  I got the announced ballistics and some published ones in a few gun mags and then the similarity to the 8x68 performance hit me.  I pulled my chronograph data and records on my 8x68 - it's more than just close - Winchester knew exactly what performance they were after.  I really wanted to add a 325 WSM to my rifle battery this year.  Then the sad news from New Haven.  Of course, now I can't find one anywhere.
