[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] very interesting question Posted by George on Jan 27 2006 How about a 700 NE! Just kidding. Takes a little thought since it's a three part question. It may depend upon types of survival and protection? Small critters or large? Two legged or four? Etc. If just for two legged protection- reliable, short-barrred 12 ga or tactical, semi auto 308. If for four legged protection probably, either the shotgun or a larger caliber rifle. Survival- small critter primarily- 22 rimfire with lots of rounds. Combining all three parameters though, that's the question!- something like a 222 Rem in a bolt gun with good irons sights and a low power, fixed power, rugged scope along with a Lee handloader, lots of powder, lots of two types of bullets (50-52 grain regular and 60 grain tough large game type). The part about hunting only was covered in a previous post not long ago. Previous: I may have to say M-44 Brian Richardson Jan 28 2006 Next: Only One Rifle Murphy Jan 27 2006 Message Thread:
