[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] 366 Alaskan Posted by gumboot458 on Jan 26 2006 In point of fact the 358 Norma is right at home with the 275 gr Kodiak Bonded Core and the 250 X bullet, also The 275 gr Hawk bullet. Then also the 320 gr Woodliegh soft and solid . These 2 cartridges should be the most popular in Alaska and abroad. That the 338 win mag . gathered so much attention, is sad . But the real travisty is how much game is shot and lost by the 30 caliber goons. For deer , fine and dandy but even tho occasionally someone will luck out and have them work on large game isn,t much of a point. Its like someone saying the 220 swift is a good deer cal. because they managed to head or spine shoot some bucks. I know some loggers who have a fair # of deer kills with the 22 L R. The point is the 358 Norma and the 366 Ak. both come close to the 375 h+h. as long as the H+H isn,t reamed out to the Whetherby or Ackley Mashburn chamber.. Tho they all need a long action. and that is the beauty of thr 358 366. They fit right in a Stainless Ruger with no messing around. I bet a guy could have a 300 win or 338 win rebored and really get something good !!!! Previous: 366 Alaskan Murphy Jan 26 2006 Next: 366 AK Kabluewy Jan 26 2006 Message Thread:
