While analyzing my own technique I can see room for preference, and factor of habit so I thought I'd ask you pros about technique. He's new at it so maybe I can start him right from the get go. Just standing, no bench rest. Personally I'm holding it not too tight or loose, two handed cupped grip, squeezing on my slow exhale, focusing mostly on my front sight and I keep both eyes open. I think I've got my left eying the target and right more on the front sight. (With a rifle and scope I use one eye though.)I would think a technique wouldn't vary much for different caliber, barrel length or semi auto vs revolver. I never had any formal training, just learned the BB method. That is when I was a kid I'd just go shoot about a million BBs and somehow you develop a style.
