It is a great killing machine.  I like the way Gumboot458 says it.  This family; 400 grains, forty plus bore, 2400 ish velocity.  Just about as good as it gets for any mortal to carry and shoot.

But, I wouldn't rebore and give up a pound of barrel weight. I would go for short and thick, maybe 20" to make it handy.  Maybe this fit the budget better.  The paddle is strong but not much for recoil management, you'll need to be tough.   You will truly have a stomper rifle, from any view point.  Good shootin'.
