I think I will have a 338 barrel rebored to 416 and throated for the long hornady bullets as they are great on deer and very affordable. I bedded my 458 win mag that I had built on a M77mk2 stainless in the orig. canoe paddle stock with J B Weld and it has held up for 12 years and . The trick is to put an extra recoil lug under the barrel and bed that to the cross members in the fore end. The 416 Taylor is a great round and it kills brown bears like the 458 win does .. Absoutly and immediatly. But it isn,t a 416 Remington. The big Rem. is more gun but I can,t tell any difference between them as far as killing stuff goes. But mthe Rem has 75 yards on the Taylor.
