Bullet drop relates to gravity.  When you shoot a target (level on ground) parallel to the earths gravity 300yds downrange, the bullet drop reflects 300yds worth of drop and 300yds worth of wind in its point of impact.

When you shoot a target way up high on a hill (steep incline) that is 300yds away from the tip of your muzzle, but in reality is actually only 200yds away from you parallel to the earths gravity, the bullet reflects 200yds worth of drop but 300yds worth of wind in its point of impact.  The same would apply if shooting downhill.

To calculate the correct bullet drop and wind requires that you know the distance the bullet needs to travel to your target, the angle to your target, cosine and a pocket calculator to determine the distance downrange the bullet will travel in relationship to gravity parallel to the earth.  This can give sheephunters and snipers problems but should not be much of an issue w/ general big game hunters.
