I want to back up Murph's point about clean burning.  It probably isn't as big an issue with revolvers, but it is real hassle in rifles.  That is unless you really LIKE disassembling lever actions to get rid of accumulated unburned granules.  If they are to be used in a variety of arms, it's a lot better if your loads work well in all of them.  His propellant profiles are invaluable.
