Perfect accuracy .7"@100yds.

I endeavered on a questionable venture this early summer on my Marlin 1895G. Opinionated gunshooters and collectors seem intent on leaving well enough alone on "grooming" a barrel. I have studied from the likes of Veral Smith, Marshall Stanton, forums and even some barrel manufacturers. "Polishing", "Air Gauged", Ballard Riflings vs. Button Rifling and mostly about FireLapping. Seems that the more I shot the "air" gun velocity abrasive bullets with a BHN of 12 an poishing the heck out of the barrel and "breakin" the barrel properly that this would never end. Finally "tweaked" what I considered to be the last 3 lapping bullets through and with some proper clean up an polishing again and breakin once more - off to the "dump". I set up a good back board (white) background and a 8" black diamond in center @100yds. Had rolled up 11 rounds of 425grain WFLNGC, .460dia. in front of 52grns. of H322 plus a good "crimp". Worked my bullets down to 2" high and all consistently in line. Last 3 shots measured a true .701" cent. to cent. Doggone fine shooter. I am going to use my Chrono today with some more loads and I suspect I am right around 1900fps. with these loads. I wanted to share this as their maybe some members here who have singled out this method as a nono and can tell them and others that this process works wonderfully. I suppose the only thing left is to properly size the THROAT of my rifle to get a bullet with a "perfect" fit.
