I had to do mine of course but if yours is shooting on paper quite well at 100yds and have not "fliers" I would say your rifle is fine. I am not sure where the problem lies with Marling maybe in QC, I understand Marlin's process is Button rifling as well as many other fine barrel manufacturers so it must be just that "Quality Control".
