Thanks, folks.

I am now leaning toward a used shotgun...or maybe just looking for a short barrel for my model 12, but don't really want to do that, as it wouldn't really be any better than beating up my rifle.  The ideal would be to find something decent that I could have both a short, slug barrel for and a longer barrel that was safe for steel shot.  Appreciate the words of wisdom, this is a great forum....Louis
