Thanks for the info, Murphy.  I figured if anyone knew anything, it would be you.  Yes, I am fairly impressed with the rifle myself.  I was able to buy it new at a gun shop from the owner who just wanted to get rid of it since he said he'd had it for quite sometime and no one had ever shown an interest in even looking at it except for me.  I don't know if that makes me an oddball or not, but he sold it to me for $650, with no sales tax, so I didn't think I could pass it up.  It does have the cleanest bore of any new rifle I've purchased.  I was at his shop to pick up a Winchester Model 52B sporter that I purchased over the internet, so when I came home with two rifles, I don't think my wife was too impressed.  But being a good wife, she never denies me a new rifle!
