Keep the thoughts coming.  I failed to add that yep we reload.  Haven't bought a factory round in a loonnnggg time.  When you go through 8K 223 rounds a year you have to load.

I knew the 230 round nose hardball would probably deflect easy. I've had it come off the steel belts on a tire before.  Just wanted  input.  I've shot and loaded 230 grain flat nose in the 45 and it worked good.  The more I think about it all, I think I'll try to find hard cast flat nosed 230s(we used the non hard cast for bowling pin loads because the round nose would also deflect) and load her up 500 or so to test.  I"m more comfortable with the kimber because the double action revolver is hard to master.  And she knows her Kimber inside and out.

FWIW I have contemplated a bear fence for camp.  Used to find the fencers that ran off a few D cell batteries and with the bailing twine fence line really light we could probably hook up around camp easy enough if I could figure a way to insulate easy enough.  Of course tie off plastic insulators are cheap and light too.

As I said more input is welcome.  Now back to trying to decide where we fly to and what service to use....
