The best weapon you can carry in the wilderness is between your ears. Unfortunately i have been in a situation where i had to take a bears life and was none to happy about it. I got caught with my guard and weapon down right in camp and the bear came within 5 feet of me. The only thing that saved me was remaining calm, though i will say it was not easy! Every situation and bear is different and if you should happen to be in a confrontation, you will not know how to react until it happens. Be smart, be aware, and most of all, be safe!
