Welcome to the Forum, glad you're with us.

If it doesn't bother you, don't change the rings.  If you have sights on a rifle and intend to use as backup, the stock has enough drop and higher rings may not fit too well.  I use 1.5-4.5 and 1.5-5 scopes on several rifles and I like seeing the front sight, I know it is still there.  Don't change rings or scopes.  When you dial up to higher power it goes away anyway, right.  What caliber do you shoot?  Again, welcome and good shootin'.
