RCBS .45 ACP die problems
Posted by Ak Steve on May 27 2005
Ok, here is an odd ball.  Last December I picked up a set of RCBS carbide dies for .45 ACP.  This was the first time I have tried RCBS, as long ago I became a Lee man.
I got every thing set up and started chugging away on 100 rounds of brass.  After I charged the cases, I went to seat and crimp, and the damded dies just wound not crimp.  Either I'd get nothing, or the case would get totally crushed and I'd still have a bullet that falls right out of the case.
I contacted RCBS, they basically told me I was an idiot and that this is the easiest thing in the world.  I responded by saying "Thanks, for $18 I bet Lee Precision has the answer to my problems!", and never heard back from them.
I'm not new to this reloading thing, and after 15 years I figure I'm a good beginner.  Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
