If you don't coat everything, springs trigger parts etc. still going to corrode.  Very expensive to do all parts.  For something else, that gets between water and metal. Get some info on Corrosion-X wipe or spray on it crawls into everything, does not attract to much dirt after in soaks in and won't rub off like teflon types:
