I have handloaded them in my Ruger #1 45-70 in 405 grain. I loaded them hot and on the hunt I shot a moose that was walking along a ridge in light willow. 185 yrd quartering away shot went in the ribs on one side through the lungs and exited just before the far shoulder blade leaving the animal with an exit wound of about 2 inches. Never did find the bullet. I'm glad the cow wasn't standing near that side or I would have had to explain a dead cow too!
Incrediable bullet in my opinion.
