[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] 375 vs 416 Posted by tkpurdy on May 12 2005 I have a 375 Rem Ultra Mag and a 416 Rigby. Felt recoil is similar between the two. They both recoil heavily. In factory loadings the 416 Rigby and 416 Remington are pretty much the same. If you handload, Barnes has loading data for the Rigby using their XLC 400 grain bullet hovering around 2673 fps. This is quite a leap up from the 416 Remington. The 375 Ultra Mag shoots quite a bit flatter than the 375 H&H, but the H&H is still an excellent round that won't hit your shoulder quite as hard as the Ultra Mag. My 416 is a CZ 550 African Safari.
