375 vs 416

Recoil... 416 of course since we are talking 5000 pound-feet energy veusus 4300 for the .375.  The remington recoils less than the Rigby since it uses less powder.  

Some African countries ban less than 40 cal, and some like Botswana also look at energy (smart move).  Still the 375 H&H is the gold standard for the "all world caliber."

The .338 is a close kin to the .375 H&H in performance.  If you want more than .338 go with the .416.  Good bullets are there for both.

Finally, shoot as powerful a gun as you can shoot well.  That may be the .338 and not the .375 or 416's.  Recoil from these rifles won't kill you, but a flinch at the wrong time can.
