You will not gain one inch of penetration going from a 370 bullet at 1700 over a 440 grain bullet at 1650. They will both completely penetrate any critter to walk the woods of Alaska and half of those walking in Africa. I've driven a 325 grain hard cast bullet lengthwise of a moose at 60 yards while only clocking 1625 FPS from the muzzle. Have put a 265 grain hard cast bullet completely through a Musk Ox at 80 yards while only doing 1400 FPS from the muzzle.
