Too Low (subsonic or target) velocity or too high (hyper) velocity in both models (the short one & the one w/ the fake comp) can be finnnnicky!!! I think you can contact S&W (Smith & Wesson) for mainsprings or maybe they have solved some of these issues as time has passed and the problems could be all OK by now.
