Lead Sled
Posted by Tony Perkins on Apr 20 2005
Good point- Don't feel recoil

Bad points- Won't have the same Zero and doesn't help you overcome your uneasiness with the recoil. Actually might give you problems with flinching in the field.

My opinion- Treat big bores like you would a new exercise routine. Start out light and build up as you go. In otherwords, use lightest bullets possible first. After time you actually become accustomed to the recoil. Or, get a lighter recoiling rifle...30-06? More game is killed in state with an '06 than any other gun according to the Alaska Department of Game and Fish. Why...that is the maximun recoil the majority of shooters in the world can handle. In the end I would rather have precise bullet placement that a big hole in the belly or miss.
