The Woodleigh 350 Grain and Alaskan Bonded FN 350 grain, even the Hornady 350 RN and FN has performed well over the years. Reloader 7 is a excellent powder in the 45-70 a well as IMR 3031. With RL7 I use 53.8 of RL 7 with the 350 bullets and 50.0 with the 400 and 405. For the last 7 years ever since the Marlin GG hit the market I use in it a 350 Hardcast FN Gas Check with Fed 210GM primers. I use a Lee Factory Crimp Die to apply the Crimp and use Fed Nickle Brass. This load is 2000 FPS and is considered a +P Marlin load but safe. I have Two marlin 45-70 a older rifle and the GG. I had the GG modified by Wild West Guns of Anchorage. The Happy Trigger and Ejector, parkerized, williams Fire Sight, and for scope I have a Leupold 1.5x5 in Warne QR Lever Rings on Weaver Grand Slam Steel bases. Excellent Bear and Moose gun for 150 yard shooting. Previous: 45/70 Reloder 7: recommended loads?? plentycoupe Apr 16 2005 Next: 45-70 & 430 gr cast loads Murphy Apr 16 2005 Message Thread:
