[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] ??? Posted by George on Apr 18 2005 Burton, Seems that .005 base variance is pretty close and 1/10 shim seems a little on the too much side. One last thing to try before sending it back or calling. Try mounting the scope as per normal. Then set up a large black bull's eye target out about 25 yds. Set the gun in a sturdy cradle or well sand bagged and visually bore sight down the barrel, nudging the gun until the bull is centered in the bore. Then carefully adjust the scope to see if it will also put the crosshairs on the center of the bull. Re-check to make sure the bull is still centered in the bore. If you can do this with the bore line AND scope crosshairs pointing to the same spot at 25 yds and there is still adjustment UP in the scope, then the bore sight system you're using is out of whack and there is likely no problem with scope or mounts. But, if you can't visually line the bore and scope up at the 25 yd spot then it may be time for a call or return. Good Luck!
