[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] cape buff and 45-70 Posted by Magnum Man on Apr 17 2005 I read in a hunting mag about a year ago where a the editor of the mag Shot a cape at a hundred yards with something like a 400grn solid cast put of a 45-70. the bull was uphill and there was a cow behind the bull and neither he or the guide was aware this. And the guy shot the bull it ran and he put two more in and downed him. They walked up to the bull and turns out he hit the cow too. the first round hit, went through the bull into the cow dropped her dead in her tracks. The only nreason he didnt getb prosecuted for the cow was cuz the guide told him to shoot. Anyway loving my 450marlin guide gun like i do would you be allowed to use this caliber for cape?
