Used lots of 11s
Posted by Brian Richardson on Mar 23 2005
I like the Remington Model 11-48 best of all of the Browning recoil systems...  Browning A-5, Rem. 11 & 11-48, Sportsman 48,  Savage sold a couple versions.......

So yours quit working - Bummmer... that's pretty rare for these ol' workhorses.

These are also great freezing weather poppers, and guys in the know like them for icey, wet conditions.  Typical breakage on these guns is the wood taking a clobbering - so it is common to first see forearm splits then stocks cracking near the receiver and trigger guard.

Here is what to do -

Take the BBL off, cycle the bolt back, Push the action button, then slowly (by hand)let it go into the firing position...

Once there - place your finger hard against the fire pin (where it would strike the shells primer & pull the trigger...  it should give you a little sting as well as indent your finger.

Could indeed be a pin probem tho'... or the shells  (are they bulk packed Federal cheapos?)  Try other brands see what you results you find.
