It would not be launching a 250 grain bullet much faster than the 340 WBY. I have owned a custon 338/378 WBY built on a BBK-02 action way before the factory 338/378 WBY came into being. It would only launch a 250 grain Nosler Partition to 3150 FPS from it's 26" Lilja barrel. The rifle weighed just under 9#. Not too bad in the recoil department. Had the Answer System Recoil pad installed on this rifle and it really helped to tame felt recoil on the shoulder.
