H&H home job

Grizz,

Is it just not shootin' for you?  I'm not sure a 375 will shoot better floated. Is the barrel light or pretty heavy? Is the M70 like the pre 64 guns? I guess what I'm asking is, how many screws hold the barreled action in the stock? Is there a screw in the fore end? Is there a screw in front of the trigger guard? I can't recall exactly what configuration the M70 classic is. The front action screw has to be tightened first and most, then the rear most screw, very tight. If there is a screw into the barrel, take it out then shoot and see what happens. George gives good advice about the bedding, and if your handy you can bed it yourself. Use the release agent at least twice! Bedding for a 375 is different, even on the same model, than say a 270. If you put a shim under the recoil lug to clear the barrel of stock contact, when you shoot it, it will probably damage the bedding. (Hot Glue!#@$) I'm interested in your project, keep me posted, I'd like to know more.
