[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] why? Posted by FBKShunter on Feb 20 2005 Because I had this .270 and I mostly only use it for deer hunting on the islands. I was sick of the 22" inch barrell sticking up above my pack and catching on everything. Now the barrel is the same length as my pack as doesn't catch. And yes the 6" did make a big difference on the amount of stuff it catches on. And yes I would have liked to buy a Thompson rifle or something like that but I didn't have the money for a new gun, so I took the cheap way out. I usually don't worry about the velocity because my shots are only 200 -250 yds, but I'm going to mule deer hunting and debating weather I should take the .270 or the .338. So I was gonna play with some new loads and see what kind of long range trajectory I can get with the .270. Previous: 270 Powder Murphy Feb 19 2005 Message Thread:
